"Heart of a champion"

The Look of Love Niya ParksComment

Here at The Look of Love, we extend our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Jonathan Lewis, a teen who died defending the life of a younger child who was bullied. According to Jonathan's father, "Jonathan was a loving, giving, kind, fierce young man who loved community and caring for others... Lewis Sr. said his son wanted to join the US military and was preparing to come to live with him in Austin, Texas. He said he hoped his son’s death could be a catalyst for greater efforts to tackle a rising tide of youth-on-youth violence."

If you or anyone you know is a victim of bullying, please seek help. Click the link below for resources, prevention strategies, and how to find support.

A Prayer For Israel

"I have called on You, for You will answer me, God. Turn Your ear to me. Hear my speech. Show Your marvelous loving kindness, You who save those who take refuge by Your right hand from their enemies. Keep me as the apple of Your eye. Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, from the wicked who oppress me, my deadly enemies, who surround me" - (Psalm 17:6-9).

It's been nearly two years since 10-year old Isabella "Izzy" Tichenor committed suicide after an unrelenting battle with bullying and harassment.

After her death, Izzy's mother vowed "to make Izzy’s life matter by speaking out about bullying, racism and the importance of understanding autism so that no other parent has to suffer like she has." - WGNTV/AP News

It is our hope that Izzy's mother receives the platform she needs to defend the lives of chidren that are bullied.
